Back to the grind

So...last week I started back to work...and I love it. I'm back at the clinic I was at before/during/after my munchkins were born. It's nice to be out and around adults all day, thinking about stuff other than the everyday stuff I was use to being a stay at home mom. I'm only part time but that's enough for me.

Crabs and starfish for my little man

Fox has been spending the summer at his Nanny & Papa's house. During this time, we've taken Nevada to the beach and both times were lucky to go when tide is out and because of this, we've been able to catch a few crabs and starfish for pictures for Fox. Here are a few pictures of what we got.

Better late than never....sort of.

So....July 20th was an extremely special day in our household. Our son Fox turned 5 years old. I can't believe how quickly these past 5 years have gone. I'm holding it together pretty good, believe it or not..however sitting here thinking about him is making me tear up. He's my baby boy who will be starting school this September. Daddy and I are so incredibly proud of you Fox and we love you more than life itself.

Fun in the...rain

I think the kids like playing in the rain more than any other type of weather...especially now since we have some matts down for their pool. On this particular day, we were in the process of cleaning their pool but the matts were left down...well they became a slip-n-slide for the kids and I don't think I've ever seen them laugh so hard.

First camp fire of the year...of Fox and Nevada's life actually

Last weekend we took the kids to Martinique Beach...one of the most beautiful beaches I've ever seen. The water was freezing, the air was cool..and only my crazy son was in the water...mind you not on purpose. A wave knocked him over and got him wet..which in turn made his pants heavy and fall off..lol..then the EXACT same thing happened to Nevada only instead of her loving every minute of it like Fox...it scared the living day lights out of her and she wouldn't go near the water after that...even got upset when Fox went near the water. Eventually we left and went to another beach called Sandy Point..which isn't really an official beach, it's more of a sand dune on the side of the highway but everyone goes there and voila..it's a beach to us.
We had been watching the fire index for a few days waiting for it to get back to normal cause it had been extreme so after a few days of rain, it went to normal and we were able to have a little camp fire. Fox was so excited. He's been wanting to have one ever since it was mentioned and when it was finally time to have one...he was over the moon excited.

Fox sure loves his Uncle Josh

So..my brother-in-law Josh and his amazing girlfriend Keri came down this past weekend for the May run..however we were able to see them and spend some time with them...something Fox looked forward to more than anything.

On the morning that we were to go visit them, Fox was downstairs eating his breakfast in his usual attire at that time of the morning...his undies..lol..when all of the sudden he jumped up from his chair and said "I need to go make myself look handsome for Uncle Josh". He then took off like a bat out of...well you know..and upon his return, he looked extremely handsome.

He looked at me with the biggest smile on his face...being so proud of himself and said "do I look handsome mommy"...I told him he took my breath away. Here is what he looked like:

Grandchildren make the world go round

Yesterday my grandmother turned 85. She is just as beautiful today as she was 65 years ago. My family all got together today to celebrate her life, as well as my uncle..who turned 65 yesterday as well. We also had an easter egg hunt for the great grand kids.

Little Miss Canada

So...we finally got Nevada in to see the eye specialist...and she needs to wear glasses. I thought waiting for the appt was hard...waiting for her glasses to be made was even harder. Took a little over a week but we got them and boy does she ever look beautiful in them.

Parenting in the 21st century

You know...being a mother was always a dream of mine..something I never thought I'd get a chance to become till I met my husband. We both shared our dream of having a family and have both made the others dream come true...but man is it hard.

There is not a day that goes by when I don't thank God for my kids, that I don't stare at them with awe, that I sometimes tear up with the thought that they came from me. I often find myself wondering where their cuteness comes from and jokingly say "must be from your father".

This past year has been the hardest for me...with issues on the home front, with how Fox's behavior has changed just since his sister was born...and now Nevada is taking on those saucy traites. It's hard...and has definitely taken a toll on me but it's something I'd not change for all the money in the world.

I often wonder how anyone can have children and get nanny's to raise them. I have nothing against nanny's..I think every parent needs some alone time but being able to watch my childrens firsts of everything...that is what becoming a parent is all about. To see the look on their faces when they've accomplished something as little as putting their bowl in the sink..priceless.

Nope...as hard as parenting is and can be worse at times...I'd not change things for anything in the world...my children are my life!

2010 Winter Olympic Torch ~ Vancouver, Canada

Fox made this 2010 Winter Olympic Torch in preschool...all he talked about was holding the Olympic torch..lol..now I know what he meant.

Snow isn't actually snow...it's mini snowmen falling from heaven unassembled.

So our last snowfall dropped quite a bit of snow however with out mild weather, it's not lasted very long. Along with the snow melting, the ground is slowly thawing, which in some parts of the yard makes for very messy looking snow. Doesn't take long for the kids to notice the mud.

On this particular day, the kids wanted to make snowmen with what little snow we had left and here are the results. In this particular pic, they were both trying to show me their snowmen when the head of Nevada's snowman fell off.

Snow day

My kids love the snow. Fox was in his glory when he looked out the window this morning and saw all the snow...then his mood changed to sadness when he realized that meant no preschool today.

Valentine's Day

This year was another mile stone for us. Fox had his very first Valentine's Day party at school. He was so excited cause he was able to not only have a party with his friends, but he was also able to wear his jammies to school and bring a favorite stuffed animal if he wanted.

When he came home from school, he was showing me the bag he made for all his cards from his friends and as we were going through them, I noticed he had 2 cards from the same girl. I jokingly asked him about this and he said "that's cause she wants to marry me". A little thrown by his reply, I asked him how he knew this and he said, "cause she told me but it's a secret". Guess my little man is a heart breaker all ready..lol

My little artist

Well Fox has always loved to draw pictures and as each day passes, he gets better and better. He's now learned how to use the Paint program on the computer and this is one of his master pieces. I am so proud of him and how it turned out that I wanted to share it with the world.
