Just a rambly sort of day

So Hurricane Kyle wasn't at all that bad...for us anyways. Our sun tent did blow away which isn't a big deal cause we were going to throw it in the garbage anyways when we took it down and there are hundreds of leaves on the ground now but other than that and a few power outages in some places, all is well. Today though, I'm just feeling sort of blah! I got news today from the school that Fox will be going to that they do NOT have a preschool program for him to go into next year however another school does but we are not in that jurisdiction so that is out of the question. I just feel really sad for him cause I know how much he is looking forward to going, as am I at times ;-). I don't know...I'm just glad that I have this blog so when I have days like this, I can just write down how I am feeling and then go from there, hopefully on a better note. I'm lonely, sad, happy, glad all at the same time. I have an amazing husband and family, two wonderful kids but right now, I'm just blah!!! Hopefully my next post won't be as much of a downer...not that I have any followers..lol. Until next time!!

5 years this weekend...

So 5 years ago this weekend, we were hit directly by Hurricane Juan...seeing how this is not usual for us, it was devestating. So much damage and debrie...well we are now currently tracking Hurricane Kyle, not expected to be a hurricane when it actually makes land fall however it could still have hurricane force winds so for now, all we can do is sit back, stay safe and pray that it's not as bad this time around!!

Buzz Light Year to the rescue...

So we went to the local Frenchies store to get the kids some long sleeved sweaters and some pants and just happened upon some Halloween costumes. We ended up buying a few of them for not only Halloween but for dress up as well. Fox was originally going to be either Buzz Light Year or a Scarecrow and Nevada was going to be a cute little clown. Not sure what he was going to choose, we decided to go back to the store and the first thing Fox saw was a full length Tigger costume and a little Puppy Dog costume so we ended up buying both along with a Race Car outfit, a Princess dress for Nevada to play in and the green monster from Monster's Inc (a full length costume). It all came down to this once he saw the Tigger outfit. Fox has decided to be Tigger for Halloween, Nevada was going to be the little baby clown princess however her Great Aunt Judy went out and bought her the cutest little cow costume so Nevada is going to be a cute little cow. We also gave my neice and nephew the green monster and scarecrow costumes for them to use for Halloween. I will definately post more pictures after Halloween.

A sure sign that Summer is almost over

So I was getting my baby girl ready for bed when I looked out her window and saw a deer. Now this is nothing normal to see deer in our back yard however throughout the Summer, they were few and far between but now that the weather is getting cooler and the kids are back in school...we seem to be seeing them more often now.

Some more random pics of my children

This is Fox posing in his daddy's boots. He loves wearing them around the house.

The imagination of a 3 year old at work

Ok so I've always said that Fox has such a great imagination and knows how to use it. Today, he decided to prove that yet once again. I have a game boy that my husband had bought me a few years back which Fox has now adopted as his own. Anyways, it comes with a silver holder which Fox likes to turn into a cell phone. As you can see by the pictures, he's added an atenae and in one picture, is even talking to his Pappa.

My baby girl learning new words...

So Nevada is slowly starting to talk more and more each and every day. Her newest word...are you ready for this....NO!! She even shakes her head in the "no" motion.
We were sitting at the kitchen table eating supper and we are currently in the works of trying to get Nevada off the bottle and onto a sippy cup however it's not going very well. Anyways, at the supper table tonight, she wouldn't take her sippy cup and when I mentioned it to Phil, she started to shake her head no...when I told Phil that if I put her juice in her bottle, she would drink it...we both looked at her and she was shaking her head yes...as if she could understand us...I tell ya, our children are very smart!!!

Fox and his sayings...

So Phil and I were in the kitchen getting lunch ready for Fox..he requested pancakes. We have two types for him to choose from...regular pancakes or Transformer waffles...he chose the waffles and got all excited running into the room yelling,

"TRANSFORMERS, TO THE RESCUE"...

now correct me if I'm wrong but isn't that what the tv show always had them saying as they transformed into their fighting machines? Phil and I just looked at one another and each schrugged our shoulders trying to figure out where he had heard this seeing how he's never seen the show before...lol.
