Kids say the funniest things...and are so smart about it too :-)

Yesterday I put a Toonie into one of those toy machines where no matter what, you will win a prize. Anyways, he wanted to try for a stuffed mouse so we did and to our luck, got it. It's a really cute mouse and he seems to really enjoy lugging it around with him and sharing it with his sissy.

Before heading home from shopping all day and then visiting his Great Nanny and Great Aunt, he informed his Aunt while pointing to the bottom part of the mouse that the back is it's bum and the front is his "birdy". It was too funny but at the same time, he was right...such a smart little guy :-)

My beautiful daughter Nevada

Ok so call me bias but I'm convinced that Nevada is extra cute because of her huge eyes..I know..all moms say that their child is the cutest and they are always right so I'm no different when I say that Nevada (and Fox for that matter) are extremely cute. I've recently become a member at Today's Parent Magazine..a Canadian magazine for Canadian mothers..or anyone for that matter. Anyways, every year they seem to have a Cover Contest where you send in your childrens pictures and then if you win, you get on the cover so this year I've entered Nevada and I just wantd to share with you all the picture I sent..I think it truly shows just how amazingly beautiful Nevada is and just how much her eyes say about her :-) . Guess you can say that I am a very proud mother, no matter win or lose!!

Imagination...it's a wonderful thing

One of Fox's birthday gifts was a Tonka train set. He loves trains but for safety reasons has to keep it in his room cause of small pieces and the fact that we have an even smaller munchkin crawling around the house...and it helps mom sleep in some when Nevada is still sleeping..keeps Fox busy for a bit. Anyways, call me bias but I'm now convinced that Fox...can't believe I'm saying this...has a better imagination than me, cause I know at his age, I would never have been able to use my imagination the way he did this morning.

After a bit of a"sleep in" this morning while Fox was quietly playing with his new train set, I get up to peek in on him only to find that (and remember, he's only 3)..he built a tunnel with his legos to go over the train tracks..and the thing about all this is...IT FITS PERFECT and his train glides through it without any problems...I don't know but I'm thinking I have an Einstein on my hands..lol :-) He IS always telling me he's "using my imagination"...it's such a wonderful thing!

Kids will eat the...well you use your imagination here......

Ok so this morning when Fox woke up, he came into my room while we waited for his sister to wake up...all the while the little monkey was already awake in her room extremely occupied with something that she was quiet as a mouse...actually, I think she was sleeping cause Fox ended up opening her door and waking her and that is when she started to cry...anyhoooooo...the minute I entered her bedroom I could smell a strong stench..well you use your imagination!! I just figured I needed to change a dirty diaper...that was until I opened up her curtains and found that I not only needed to change her diaper but I had to give her a bath, her crib a bath...EVERYTHING. She was covered in...well you know where I am going with this...HEAD TO TOE!!!!!...bed sheets/blanket..even her bottle. So needless to say, Nevada had a scrub down bath this morning. I even called the doctor to see if she needed to be checked cause you never know what got into her mouth...and was told "THE ONLY ONE WHO WILL GET SICK BY THIS ORDEAL IS ME...AND THAT IS FROM THINKING ABOUT IT"....believe me, I am trying to javex these images and thoughts from my mind as we speak!!! :-(

I've included a picture of Nevada playing in her toy area looking at me all innocent like nothing nightmarish had even happened a few hours before!!!!!!

Too hot for comfort..

Well today is another unbelievably hot day...actually it's almost too hot for the kids to go out and play so we are spending the day in our cool basement watching some movies and just relaxing. We were outside for a bit so that I could work on our rose garden...I put in some black cloth and covered that with white pebbles. Poor Nevada though, she wasn't even in the sun..just shade and by the time we were finished outside she was soaked with sweat...and Fox was too. Once it is all finished I will post a picture so people will see that I do have a green thumb.. :-) Ok so as you can tell by the picture, it's not so much of a green thumb that I have rather than a white thumb..litterally...these rocks stain your skin..lol. I'm very proud it this little rock/rose garden.

Family Wedding

Well on Saturday we went to a family wedding... Phil's grandmother...anyways, it was a beautiful ceremony, beautiful weather, beautiful time...and the kids were so well behaved and they looked so cute..here is a picture of them.

The beginning...

Well this is a first for me but I figured it was an amazing way to keep friends and family up to date on how our lives are changing as our Thorne Bush grows bigger. So in order to do that..let me start from the beginning (but in the short versioni):

Phil and I are the children of...Joel/Deborah (and later in life George/Deborah) and David/Beth....we grew up not knowing what love had in store for the two of us...then magic began to happen....Phil and I went to high school together (1993) and I knew from the first time he walked into art class that I was in love with him. He was so....amazing and our time spent together in art class is something I will never forget. We became real good friends, even though I wanted more...but that didn't happen. I did however go to his prom with him, which at the time was THE most amazing thing ever to happen to me. I will never forget it for as long as I live.

Anyways, after graduation, we sort of went our separate ways...each having our own lives. It was 10 years after his graduation that I opened up an e-mail only to find it was from him. My heart skipped a couple of beats, I almost passed out from what I can only describe as intense nervousness and excitement at the same time and we've been together ever since and that is where our Thorne Bush's roots were planted.
